FAQ
-
1. What kinds of concerns do you help people with?
We work with adults navigating a wide range of challenges — from anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD to stress, trauma, fertility, and chronic illness. Many of our clients are also exploring identity, relationships, spirituality, and career transitions. Whether you’re going through a big life change or simply want to feel more grounded day-to-day, therapy can help.
-
2. How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy. Many people come to gain clarity, improve relationships, or build healthier coping strategies. If you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or just ready to make a change, therapy can provide a supportive space to explore what’s happening and create a path forward.
-
3. What should I expect in my first session?
Your first session is a conversation about you — what’s bringing you in, what you’d like to change, and what feels most important right now. We’ll talk about your goals, answer your questions, and begin to create a personalized plan. Many people leave their first session feeling relieved to have a clearer sense of direction.
-
4. How often will we meet, and for how long?
Most clients meet weekly for 45–50 minutes, though we’ll find a rhythm that works best for your goals and lifestyle. Some people work with us for a few months around a specific challenge, while others choose longer-term support to continue growing and maintaining progress.
-
5. Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?
Yes. We offer both in-person sessions at our Boston office and secure online sessions for clients anywhere in Massachusetts. Many people appreciate the flexibility to choose what works best each week.
-
6. Where can I have in-person sessions?
We serve patients in the state of Massachusetts. We hold in-person sessions in our main office located on 185 Devonshire street Boston, MA.
-
7. Is therapy confidential?
Absolutely. What you share in therapy stays between us. The only exceptions are rare situations involving safety (like risk of harm to yourself or others) or legal requirements, which we’ll go over together.
-
8. What therapeutic approaches do you use?
Our clinicians are trained in evidence-based treatments (EBTs) that research shows are effective, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Self-Compassion. We’ll choose the approach — or combination — that best fits your needs and goals.
-
9. Do you accept insurance?
We Bluecross Blue Shield and Aetna. If we’re not in-network with your plan, we can provide a “superbill” to submit for potential reimbursement. Many clients also choose to pay privately for flexibility and privacy.
-
10. What are your fees, and do you offer a sliding scale?
Our standard fee is $250 per session. We reserve a limited number of reduced-rate spots for clients with financial need — please reach out if cost is a concern, and we’ll do our best to help.
-
11. What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for at least 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions canceled late or missed without notice may be billed at the full fee.
